Choi Young passes through a mystical portal which believed to be a gateway to "heaven." Instead, he ends up in modern-day Seoul where he meets a doctor, Eun-soo (Kim Hee-sun), whom he takes back with him 700 years in the past. After managing to save the queen's life, Eun-soo, however, is kept from leaving the kingdom for her "powers," including her apparent ability to predict the future. Choi Young will not have it, however, and makes it his mission to protect Eun-soo from becoming a pawn in the clashing politics of power-hungry leaders.
